Team USA lost to Germany in the semifinals of the FIBA World Cup in stunning fashion. The 113-111 score is the highest-scoring game in the tournament’s semifinal history. Of the game, FIBA’s site had this to say:
“Maybe the best description: The greatest game in FIBA history.”

Still a loss for the Americans, who were knocked into the bronze-medal game against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Canada.
Germany outrebounded USA 30-28, and had 30 assists to US’ 25.
Toronto Raptors star Dennis Schroder had 17 points and nine assists for his German squad. Anthony Edwards led the Americans with 23 points, eight rebounds and three assists. The Los Angeles Lakers‘ Austin Reaves scored 21. New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson had 15 points and seven assists.
This sure is going to feed into the Noah Lyles-NBA controversy.
