Team USA coach Steve Kerr told reporters New York Knicks guard Josh Hart will remain in the starting lineup, with Brandon Ingram coming off the bench. Per CBS Sports:

“The team made the switch in Wednesday’s blowout win against Jordan, and Kerr said the coaching staff will stick with it against Montenegro on Friday because it “makes a little more sense” to put Ingram on the second unit, rather than starting him next to Anthony Edwards and Jalen Brunson, the team’s two most ball-dominant players.”

Kerr’s reasoning makes sense, as the New Orleans Pelicans star has more opportunity to handle the ball in the second unit. Ingram recently expressed frustration with his role on the team, so hopefully they’ve figured something out with the switch.

Team USA remains undefeated in the 2023 FIBA World Cup competition.
