Gilbert said LeBron has led all his teams in assists per game, same as Magic did. He also said Magic wasn’t the Los Angeles Lakers‘ point guard for his first four NBA seasons.
LeBron has averaged close to eight assists per game in six different seasons in his career (7.8 APG in 2020-21 NBA season). He’s averaged over eights assists per game five times in the NBA playoffs.
Only 33 players have averaged over seven assists per game for their career, including LeBron James. He has maintained a 7.3 APG career average stat while playing close to 20 NBA seasons.
LeBron is currently fourth all time in assists – behind only John Stockton, Jason Kidd and Chris Paul.
LeBron James is such a dominant scorer and finisher, it is hard to label him as a point guard. He certainly has the numbers to back it up.
